Summer Theatre

TO OUR WONDERFUL PATRONS, AND MVFA SUPPORTERS

The following 2020 Port Polson Players Summer Theatre Season has been CANCELED due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in Montana and the U.S.

The Mission Valley Friends of the Arts Board of Directors and Polson Players Producers Neal & Karen Lewing deeply regret any inconvenience this change of plans has caused our faithful patrons and talented performers.

The Plan is to produce the same line-up for the 2021 summer season, when we can proceed in a healthy setting for patrons and performers alike.

Please Note: At this time we are keeping the information about each show intact, minus performance dates.

Please call the Theatre Box Office at (406) 883-9212 for clarification, or questions or email us at:

Stay Safe – Together We Will Overcome The Coronavirus Pandemic.

Port Polson Players in association with Mission Valley Friends of the Arts have selected the following titles to provide laughter, music AND heartfelt sentiment to give much-needed escape and reflection following THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. All three productions (if continued to be sanctioned by the powers that be) will be performed at Polson’s Beautiful Theatre on Flathead Lake when safe to do so.

The Pin-Up Girls

First up is a musical love letter honoring our Vets: The Pin-Up Girls, written by James Hindman and Jeffrey Lodin. Nicknamed “The Pin–Up Girls” by a grandpa of one of the singers (when they were sixth-graders), this trio of adult hometown gals (and a brother who fills in at the last minute) is full of nostalgia and pride for all who served in the U.S. Military. With tunes ranging from the Andrew Sisters to Hip-Hop, the foursome sings a cavalcade of hits inspired by letters home from our troops, paying tribute to times of conflict from WWI through Afghanistan and in between.

Pinup Girls Cast
Frances Connery, Courtney Quincy, Katie Velde and Joseph Kellogg appear in the Port Polson Players production of “The Pin-Up Girls.”

Over The River And Through The Woods

Next up is the comedy Over The River And Through The Woods by Joe DiPietro, a very funny and touching story about intergenerational relationships. Nick is a single Italian-American guy from New Jersey, whose parents retired and moved to Florida. That doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey. In fact, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. When this routine is threatened by Nick’s accepting a “dream job across country,” a series of schemes, concocted by his loving grandparents, contribute to many laugh-filled and loving moments, guaranteed to touch your funny bone and heart!
Over the River Cast
Nick Marquardt (center) plays a loving grandson to Neal Lewing, Jeri Currie, Ron Martin-Dent and Karen Lewing in Joe DiPietro’s hilarious and touching comedy, “Over The River And Through The Woods.”

The Last Romance

The Last Romance Title

Wrapping up the summer season, The Last Romance, also by Joe DiPietro, is a sweet story filled with comedy, poignancy, mystery, opera and yes… romance! A crush can make anyone feel young again, even a widower named Ralph. On an ordinary day in a routine life, Ralph decides to take a different path on his daily walk — one that leads him to an unexpected second chance at love. Relying on a renewed boyish charm, Ralph attempts to woo the elegant but distant Carol. Defying Carol’s reticence, and his lonely sister’s jealousy, Ralph embarks on the trip of a lifetime, and regains a happiness that seemed all but lost. The Last Romance is a heart-warming comedy about the transformative power of love.
